Torc
Torc (Underdog) is the moniker of Oscar Verlinden, face of the Underdog YouTube channel. As Torc, he explores a groovy and physical approach to techno. Textural, mental, hypnotic, and sweaty.
As a live act, he proposes a fully improvised modular techno set that is both experimental and strictly functional — dancefloor-first. The liveset reflects a deep research into sound design and composition principles, that he connects with a passionate love for club culture. Inspired by the likes of Colin Benders, KARENN and Phara, the liveset represents a generation of spontaneous energy waves that feed the audience’s enthousiasm back onto itself.
His DJ sets are deep and precise, a flavour of techno that’s bold but gentle. Fast without being speedy, dark without being aggressive, playful without being flippant. Groovy and consistent, with a few curveballs thrown in.
